During the last years, Peruvian exports of shrimp tails (Litopenaeus Vannamei) have presented an important performance towards the US market. However, despite the potential that Peru presents related to their natural resources, exports have not had a significant growth since 2017. According to the World Commission on Environment and Development (1987) in the Brundtland Report, sustainability is a characteristic of development that allows the constant “satisfaction of the needs of current generations, without compromising the ability of future generations to satisfy their own needs” (p. 8). This concept has become one of the key aspects to promote the continuous development of industries such as aquaculture. For this reason, it is relevant to investigate whether the relationship between sustainability in the supply chain and Peruvian exports of the aquaculture sector of shrimp tails to the United States is positive. It is important to note that sustainability focus on its three pillars: environmental, social and economic. Therefore, a basic type of research was carried out, with a quantitative approach, correlational scope and non-experimental design, which used surveys with a Likert scale as a measurement tool and were addressed to 30 executives of Peruvian export companies in the aquaculture sector. As a result, the investigation concludes that sustainability in the supply chain has a positive relationship to Peruvian exports of shrimp tails (Litopenaeus Vannamei) to the US between 2017 and 2021. The results are supported by the background information.
