With the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic and the mandatory quarantine that the country had to undergo, much of life became virtual. This involved the use of technological devices as a means of distraction and a way to maintain contact with the rest of the world through online interaction. Instagram, one of the main social networks, helped us cope with the pandemic, as it was a place to meet new people and form a friendship or romantic bond until the quarantine was over and they could meet in real life. For this reason, this paper will analyze how cyber flirting has changed among young people from Lima between the ages of 18 and 25 on Instagram during the Covid-19 pandemic. What is sought from this research is that, through the data collected, it is possible to describe how cyber flirting has changed and delve into each of its phases: attracting attention, selection, online interaction, physical encounter and resolution. To do this, the research will have a qualitative approach and will collect data through a semi-structured interview with young people aged 18-25 who have used the Instagram social network during the Covid-19 pandemic.
