Introduction. Given the current situation of COVID-19, it caused an increase in the percentage of the use of technological devices due to virtual education, which indicates that university students spend long hours in front of them, manifesting over time visual alterations such as the syndrome computer visual and musculoskeletal dysfunctions such as neck pain. Objective. To determine the association between computer vision syndrome and neck pain in university students during virtual cycles. Materials and methods. Cross-sectional-analytical study. The study population was made up of people of both sexes (female and male) aged between 18 to 30 years who are students of public and / or private universities of various university careers in the department of Lima. Data were collected from questionnaires: the Computer Visual Syndrome Questionnaire (CVS-Q), the Nordic Standardized Questionnaire (CNE) focused on the cervical region and the numerical rating scale. Results. 260 surveys were included, where 84.6% (n = 228) present computer vision syndrome, which according to the results obtained from the adjusted model, it could be observed that it has no association with the presence of neck pain in the last 7 days. On the other hand, an association was found when adjusting to the computer visual syndrome variable with the intensity of moderate / severe neck pain with an Rpa: 1.54; 95% CI: 1.14-2.14. Conclusions. In summary, no statistically significant association (p <0.05) was found between computer vision syndrome and neck pain in university students. On the other hand, the secondary outcome variable of moderate-severe pain intensity was found to be significantly associated with computer vision syndrome in the same population.
