Background: The review of the scientific literature shows few studies carried out on self-medication and symptoms associated with COVID-19, considering the context of the pandemic in Lima-Peru, 2021. Objectives: To evaluate the association between the presence of COVID-19 symptoms and self-medication in the context of the pandemic in Lima-Peru, 2021. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional observational study was developed based on an online survey. The study population consisted of adults 18 years or older who lived in the city of Lima- Peru, with a sample of 175 participants. Results: According to the Poisson regression analyzes, both raw and adjusted, it was evidenced that the association between the dependent and independent variable is statistically significant (p values <0.05). Conclusions: There is a significant association between COVID-19 symptoms and self-medication, in addition to verifying that the association is maintained for both men and women.
