The subject of this thesis is the descriptive and comparative study of the meaning of the digital news treatment of the agrarian strike in Ica and La Libertad between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021, comparing the websites of Correo and La República. Although it is an apparently neutral event, the approach or digital news treatment of this event turns it into news. It is known that all news has a perspective or point of view on the facts and in that sense the research is relevant because it will allow us to buy the informative style of both media from the digital, since it shows greater position in social networks to generate opinion in users. For that reason, the journalistic coverage of Correo, a center-right newspaper that supports the businessman, will be analyzed with La República, a newspaper that listens to and defends the demands of the businessman and seeks to represent a “progressive left“. In this sense, the contribution of this research will be to demonstrate how the news construction depends on the ideological bias of the newspaper, and how digital resources reinforce the position of both media.
