Our investigation focuses on the lack of availability of spare parts in a logistics operator in the maritime transport sector of Hydrocarbons and LPG. The inappropriate management and control of inventories is regularized by indicators of the requirement of components and the number of orders delivered. On the other hand, the use of supplier selection in the purchasing area from an empirical perspective is inefficient, delaying processes in the supply chain. This document seeks to solve these gaps by proposing a 5-step model for change management, in order to raise awareness and train workers on this new work methodology, which will allow benefits for the company. Within the first stages, the AHP, ABC Multicriteria and Topsis method will be carried out to obtain spare parts with greater rotation and have better decision-making based on various criteria in the selection of suppliers. Finally, the EOQ model, in order to standardize the inventory process and schedule inventory controls efficiently. The proposed study was novel, since various tools were applied to a logistics operator in the shipping sector, which is not very common to observe in the different academic studies. Likewise, it seeks to have a better flow on the purchasing and inventory processes. This model was validated with the Arena program, which managed to reduce inventory costs and the lack of availability of spare parts by 15%.
