This research shows which are the characteristics that digital advertising storytelling should have to develop a campaign that represents Afro-descendant women and gives space to share their social struggle discourse. The analysis is based on the H&M campaign "#encuentratuestilo", the spot shows a contemporary representation of Afro women with the influencer Natalia Barrera, who has an activist role within the Afro community of Peru. The research analyzes the past and present representations of Afro-descendant women and details the roles with which these women have been stereotyped over time in the media. Currently, with the popularity of influencers in advertising, its effect on the storytelling of the H&M campaign is studied to give visibility to different communities and create conscious representations with the reality of Afro-descendant women. The study uses a qualitative approach validated by fifteen semi-structured interviews with Afro-descendant women between 18 and 30 years old in Lima. The results showed that the main characteristics for appropriate storytelling are activism, strengthening of Afro identity and intersectionality. These characteristics build a digital advertising storytelling that correctly represents Afro-descendant women and does not promote stereotypes and racist prejudices.
