To the present day, there have been studies related to sign language interpreting focused on the relationship between sign language interpreters (SLI) and the deaf community. That topic of research arouses interest in learning more about the relationship between these two groups in a different context. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between Peruvian sign language interpreters and the deaf community based on Peruvian sign language interpreters’ experiences, considering the characteristics of the interpreters CODA (child of deaf adults) and non-CODA. In addition, the relationship of those groups will be analyzed through three elements: trust, mediating identity, and deaf culture learning. This study will have a qualitative approach since the aim is to interview sign language interpreters in order to learn about and analyze their different experiences. For the interviews, a group of participants will be contacted and asked for their consent. Finally, the data collected through this method will be analyzed using content analysis.
