The research was aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Drive for Muscularity scale using a sample of 309 participants, being 45.6% male and 54.4% female (M=24.12, SD=4.12). The Spanish version of the scale Drive for Muscularity and the Muscle Appearance Satisfaction Scale (MASS) was applied. The results confirm the two-dimensional structure of the scale (x2 = 330; CFI = 0.907; RMSEA = .0891), and adequate reliability for the dimensions attitudes (ω = .88) and behaviors (ω = .88). Also, satisfactory evidence of convergent validity of the MASS was obtained, with a measure of muscle satisfaction. In conclusion, the Drive for Muscularity scale provides adequate psychometric evidence to measure obsession with muscle in people who performed physical activity prior to confinement for COVID-19.
