Audiovisual translation is a diverse field in which different modalities can be found, such as subtitling, dubbing, video game localization, audio description, subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH), etc. These last two modalities are part of Audiovisual Accessibility for the Deaf; however, in this research we will focus on SDH. Audiovisual accessibility for the deaf people in Peru is a not widely studied field, since it is difficult to find media or cultural places with SDH. Nevertheless, the LUM Museum announced that in 2021 its videos already had this modality. Therefore, the aim of this work is to analyze the reception of SDH videos of the LUM museum in order to know how the deaf or hearing loss viewer receives and understands the messages through subtitles. Likewise, the subjectives are the following: to know how sociological variables affect the reception of the LUM videos depending on each participant, to understand how the reception of the SDH is influenced by the communicative preference and to study the influence of the corpus's audiovisual requirements on the videos' reception. Hence, the investigation uses qualitative research where two research strategies have been suggested. The first one is to carry out two surveys, one before visiting the LUM and the other one at the end of the visit. The second strategy is to organize a focus group after the second survey in order to know the participants' opinions regarding the SDH.
