This paper addresses the ethical implications of social media posts by employees, and how these can affect their jobs, including dismissal or lawsuits before a court of law. In this sense, the general objective of this research is to analyze relevant positions around corporate ethics and workers' publications on social networks. Likewise, the following specific objectives were proposed: (1) Analyze perspectives in favor of sanctioning employees for their publications on social networks; (2) Analyze perspectives against sanctioning employees for their social media posts; (3) Analyze perspectives on circumstances where employee activity on social networks should be monitored; (4) Contrast the different postures; and finally, (5) Analyze the information about the controversy that is the subject of this work. To achieve these objectives, explanatory research was developed, which seeks to deepen the study proposed by other authors and whose academic scope has been recognized in prestigious international journals. Finally, it is concluded that there is no consensus on whether or not to sanction workers for publications on social networks, because decisions depend on the context of each particular situation, which includes the policies of the companies, as well as the existing regulation in each country, according to a perspective of corporate ethics.
