In recent years, trade defense measures have become an instrument for international trade to develop optimally. These mechanisms are being regulated by the World Trade Organization [WTO] which, through certain agreements that deteriorate within its principles, authorizes exceptions so that each country can protect its national industry in the event that there is any damage that harms them, adopting any necessary trade defense measure. In Peru, with the participation of the competent entities, trade defense measures have been imposed and updated on several occasions related to the damage caused to the domestic industry in the textile sector that is analyzed in this investigation. The present investigation has a mixed methodology from the approach of a qualitative and quantitative study, in addition to having a development of a commercial gravitation model used as a prediction model in its development. The research analyzes and deepens the commercial impact that the commercial defense measures applied to textile imports from China have had during the period from 2010 to 2021. Antidumping duties and subsidies were analyzed as two of the types of commercial defense measures and macroeconomic factors as variables that distort the international trade flow. Faced with this, it jumps to the possible shortcomings that the regulatory entities have had to assist the companies for the solution and following their differences in cooperation to the issues that the WTO frames.
