The following project called ''The adaptation of traditional media to new technologies: TikTok case'', addresses the changes generated by Web 2.0 with its digital tools in traditional media. The work will develop the impact of new technologies on journalism and journalists. It will also explain how disinformation is spreading in our society due to the advance of new technologies. Currently, social networks play a very important role for the media and individuals. Nowadays, there is no media that does not have a web page or social network. Today it is important that the media have some of the digital platforms. In this way, they will be able to inform more people and the media will be more recognized. New technologies have had an impact on journalism and communication professionals have adapted to these changes. The journalist's way of working has gone through transitions, and now it is easier to access information. Also, this paper will focus on the digital platform TikTok and will begin by presenting its history. In addition, previous studies on traditional media and the use of this social network in different countries will be mentioned. Finally, Peruvian media that opted for TikTok and made their contents viral will be named.
