The objective of the study was to find the psychometric properties of the Brief Neuroaffective Personality Scale (BANPS) in a sample of university students. The participants were 403 university students from Metropolitan Lima, BANPS and Extended Positive and Negative Affect Schedule were administered. Reliability and evidence of validity based on internal structure and relationship with other variables were examined. The first Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) revealed that the six-factor model had factor complexity. The second EFA found that a four-factor model has adequate goodness of fit. The internal consistency reliability, as the omega coefficient (ω), was as follows: F1 (ω=.70), F2 (ω=.73), F3 (ω=.70) and F4 (ω=.82). Indicating that the four factors have acceptable reliability indices. In conclusion, four dimensions were found composed of items from six previous dimensions. This research contains preliminary evidence of the psychometric properties of the BANPS in Peru.
