This thesis consists of a proposal for the implementation of the BIM methodology for the development of detailed engineering in structural items, this proposal aims to reduce engineering errors for the digital manufacturing process of reinforcements in construction projects. The construction projects continue to be developed even with the detailed engineering not definitive for the start of execution. That is why the issuance of queries due to lack of detail or information in the execution stage causes costs to increase due to rework, among others. Traditional methodologies, with the use of non-collaborative tools, are suitable for the development of detailed engineering, however, not all those involved can identify all requests for information and answer them in a timely manner so as not to affect the project. The use of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology, by developing a virtual model with all the information before starting the execution, all RFIs can be reconciled, identified and cleared so that it's ready and proceeds with its construction. The proper use of BIM tools has the effect of identifying and mitigating the variability of the project through technical coordination in the collaborative model.
