Análisis de los resultados de traducción automática y posedición del inglés al español del artículo médico Cancer-Related Fatigue

Abstract

El desarrollo de la tecnología ha permitido la creación y constante actualización en diversos instrumentos que en la actualidad forman parte del proceso traslativo, entre ellos los motores de traducción automática. En este contexto, la industria de la traducción se ha adaptado a las nuevas tecnologías y ha adoptado las etapas de traducción automática y posedición. El presente trabajo se realiza debido a un interés en la creciente demanda del servicio de posedición de traducciones automáticas que competen el campo médico por parte de empresas proveedoras de servicios lingüísticos. En este sentido, cabe señalar que los motores de traducción automática siguen mejorando y permiten aumentar la productividad y rapidez del traductor humano durante el proceso de posedición. El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar los resultados de traducción automática y posedición del artículo médico Cancer-Related Fatigue (publicado en la revista Cancer y cuya traducción automática fue la versión pagada del motor API de Google).

The development of technology has allowed the creation and constant update of various tools that are now part of the translation process, including machine translation engines. In this context, the translation industry has adapted to new technologies and has adopted the stages of machine translation and post-editing. The present study is conducted due to an interest in the growing demand for machine translation post-editing services in the medical field by language service providers. In this regard, it should be noted that machine translation engines continue to improve and increase the productivity and speed of the human translators during the post-editing process. The aim of this paper is to analyze the machine translation and post-editing results of the medical article Cancer-Related Fatigue (published in the journal Cancer and worked with the Google's API machine translation engine).
