With the great reach that the Internet has had, music videos have become one of the most consumed cultural rhythms by youth in large sectors of Latin America. Likewise, the base point from which this study is based is on the theory of the article by Norma Fuller (2000), who analyzes aspects of masculinity, and Sedeño (2002), who analyzes video clips in dominant cultures. In this context, this research protocol aims to study how hegemonic masculinity is represented in the visual resources of reggaeton video clips. In the same way, it is emphasized that in the musical discourses of the reggaeton genre, women are shown in a leading presence, but as an ideal of masculine interest. The methodology with which this research topic will be carried out will be a qualitative approach, with an interpretive paradigm. In this sense, the visual discourse of seven most popular songs by the singer Maluma will be analyzed. Due to the aforementioned, it can be commented that new technologies in the media in general help to promote and show hegemonic masculinity, that these are represented through music videos, lyrics and visual resources.
