The present work is focused on the analysis of the narratives created by both sides of a struggle that puts the communication technology of the last few decades to the test. The conflict that began in February 2014 in the southeastern region of Ukraine, and its subsequent annexation, generated a lot of controversy due to the way in which the information was treated, especially when analyzed comparatively. For the referenced analysis, specialized sources from around the world were taken as a basis, but mainly works from Eastern Europe, which, in the years after the conflict, have analyzed the types of narrative influences on the news, posts on social networks and other objects of communication, both from the Russian government and from Western countries, clearly opposed to the advance in the Ukrainian east. It can be concluded, based on the sources referenced in the work, that both sides used tools, such as disinformation, to spread beneficial narratives depending on the side of the conflict. As much as the objectives of both sides were ultimately different, both campaigns used very similar techniques and abused the influence of state networks to spread their interests. The importance of this work is considered because, for the first time, the theoretical and documentary bases will be analyzed and summarized in Spanish, with the aim of facilitating the understanding of such an important conflict for the history of the world and the 21st century.
