Currently, pedestrian road insecurity is a problem that afflicts the population worldwide. In Lima-Peru, the life of the pedestrian is in constant danger when he needs to cross a street or avenue, because the elements that regulate pedestrian traffic, such as traffic lights and various signs, are not respected by drivers. For this reason, to reduce conflicts between pedestrians and drivers, the implementation of control devices at a determined intersection is proposed. Therefore, a microsimulation of said intersection is carried out with the help of the VISSIM software; of both the current situation and the proposed situation. First, the current model is represented by the corresponding transgressions and conflicts between pedestrian-vehicle. Then, the proper calibration and validation of the current model are carried out. Finally, the proposed model is elaborated with the pertinent optimization of the vehicular and pedestrian flow in such a way that the traffic conflicts of the current situation are reduced by 54%. For this reason, to make the proposed model viable, the implementation of control devices that regulate said model is required. The thesis proposes the implementation of automatic bollards synchronized with traffic lights, to contribute significantly to the reduction of traffic conflicts at the intersection of Avenida Brasil and Javier Prado in Metropolitan Lima.
