The purpose of the following research is to analyze the transformation of the advertising campaigns of the Peruvian beverage brand Inca Kola in Peru during the Pride month, from 2015 to 2021, in relation to the visual elements referring to the LGBTQIA+ community. The hypothesis that was raised is that the Inca Kola advertising campaigns have managed to use the visual codes of the LGBTQIA+ community and incorporate their products to include each sexual identity and constantly promoting their recognition and acceptance in Peruvian society thanks to their different strategies. The LGBTQIA+ community has made great strides and many politically, socially, and legally changes. For this reason, according to the study carried out based on various authors, it was possible to reveal that the behavior of brands, which are called gay-friendly, try to legitimize themselves with consumers through their strategies to address this community. In addition, it is important to mention that this research work is relevant to graphic design, since it provides a better understanding of the visual representations of the LGBTQIA+ collective in advertising campaigns. Therefore, thanks to the visual analysis of its graphic pieces and the interviews of several designers, it was shown how it was possible to verify that the Inca Kola brand, despite having been a pioneering Peruvian brand in providing its support to LGBTQIA+ people, carried out superficial campaigns that failed to fully promote the recognition of that community.
