The present research work has as its subject of study the coverage of the Peruvian digital press during the covid-19 health crisis in the year 2020. This research is relevant because during the pandemic the news coverage of different media in their various digital platforms on the web showed not having a good ability to react to the context we were going through. In addition, the importance of studying digital media before the written press is relevant because digital journalism has become the main means of dissemination of information that the Peruvian population uses to keep constantly updated and at the time that the facts happen. Therefore, this research work analyzes previous studies that focused a limited research on the subject. Therefore, this work provides a broad context of how the news coverage was made during the first year of pandemic in the country and how the digital media, being the main means of information for most Peruvians, made a coverage that proved to be sensationalist and with an informative content with fake news since what the media sought was to get views rather than offer users a quality journalistic research, corroborating the hypothesis put forward in this research work.
