The Peruvian textile sector considers the Pima cotton T-shirt as a garment of great international demand. However, this industry has two major problems, the low production of Peruvian Pima cotton and the high competition from the Asian continent. With the mission of contributing to the development of this industry, the Peruvian State in 2016 through PromPerú created the sectoral brand Peru Textiles. The present research aims to understand what the importance of the competitive advantages is offered by the sectoral brand Peru Textiles towards the licensed companies exporting cotton T-shirt to the United States during the period 2016-2019, the categories of quality, sustainability and vertical integration were identified. The research approach is qualitative based on grounded theory design, 16 interviews were conducted with key actors. The interviews were analyzed through the atlas software Ti 22, which allowed to conclude in the identification of three important factors, being these of economic, social, and environmental order, which have allowed to identify a niche, where quality is supported by sustainability. In addition, it was possible to identify five findings related to the management of Pima cotton, the implementation of sustainability certifications, the participation of the Peruvian society of clothing exporters (PREVEX), the absence of licensees of the Peru Textiles brand and the participation of PromPerú through the Peru Textiles brand in companies exporting Pima cotton T-shirts to the United States.
