The following research shows how was the news treatment of Lima’s newspapers of the presidential candidates in the elections of the years 2011 and 2016. The reason of this work is to know what was the position of the written media to representing those candidates’ in said electoral events. Given the fact, the news media constitute a media power during the election coverage. Also, the purpose of this journalistic work and why is done is to understand how Lima’s newspapers built the news of the candidates during the second round of elections. The methodology used in this research is qualitative, since it describes and analyses the media of newspapers during the elections of 2011 and 2016. The principal conclusion is the writing press it constitutes as a principal influence media, besides the years of other media press like radio or television. And their presence in the 2011 presidential election was marked with a biased in favour to the candidate Keiko Fujimori. Also, during the 2016 presidential election was favouritism to certain moment to Fujimori’s campaign, to later report about Kuczynski’s presidential campaign.
