During the pandemic context, a large amount of disinformation emerged on the web, due to the ease and scope provided by the internet so that any user can create and spread false news. Therefore, this problem is used as a starting point to describe and analyse how the use of digital tools has become a great ally of the digital media Salud con Lupa to combat disinformation on the internet. In order to develop this work, the research question was posed as follows: How is the use of digital journalism tools in research essential for today's digital media? This is answered through a qualitative, descriptive approach and the analysis of cases where 13 fake news stories about covid-19 were chosen, being unmasked by the digital media Salud con Lupa between 2020 and 2021. Throughout the development of theoretical research, it is evident that disinformation has typologies, which tend to confuse the public that consumes them and is a danger if they spread them. Likewise, the importance of the digital journalist with the adaptation of digital tools to know how to identify false news circulating on the network and denounce them publicly. It is concluded that the use of digital resources today is essential and that all media should use them to provide quality information and, above all, to avoid contributing to misinformation about such a delicate subject as health.
