This research explores the concept of mental representations of motherhood in childless women with endometriosis. It is a phenomenological study. The participants were eleven women between 35 and 49 years old who answered semi-structured interviews. The results show that the representations about motherhood are given from their own imaginary, where the desire to be a mother is found due to the bond with the mother and the internalized social mandates. Also, the obstacle that endometriosis represents to be mothers, being a disease with a lot of physical and emotional pain. So, in their mourning process for non-maternity, they end up replacing this maternal role with other activities, and some of them retain the desire to be a mother.
