The purpose of this research work is to make a proposal for improvement to increase the availability of shot blasting and porcelain line equipment in a metalworking company that manufactures hot springs. For this, the research project is divided as follows. In the first chapter, the theoretical framework and the state of the art of the thesis are developed, which has the purpose of providing adequate support for the development of the research, in chapter 2 the analysis of the company's situation is developed; both from a macro-level perspective, where the location of the company in the sector is determined, as well as the detailed description of the company; From this referential framework, the processes and problems in the production process are described; encountering problems of unscheduled stops in the blasting and porcelain line. After a rigorous analysis process, the causes and the corresponding solution tools are determined. In chapter 3, the development of the proposed solution is carried out; which consists of the development, deployment and implementation plan of the 5 S and the pillars of the TPM called preventive maintenance and autonomous maintenance. Chapter 4 develops the technical and economic validation of the proposed solution; which, through the Arena process simulator and its respective economic evaluation, establishes the viability of the proposed solution
