This thesis develops the evaluation of the structural behavior of a 15-level reinforced concrete building in the city of Lima, Peru, through a Pushover Non-Linear Analysis and a Performance Analysis. There are 4 case studies, representing a structural system of reinforced concrete of structural walls, with the presence of a double height floor located on the first, eighth and fifteenth level of the building, in order to study the behavior of each before different seismic levels. Peruvian regulations were used for analysis and design, while the Pushover Method was carried out in accordance with ASCE/SEI 41-13. For Performance Analysis, the Capacity Spectrum Method (FEMA 440) and Coefficients Method (ASCE/SEI 41-13) was used. Performance objectives were defined based on what was proposed in the Vision 2000 Committee. The proposed evaluation determined that cases where the double-height irregularity is at the first and intermediate level of the building present a deficient behavior; there is a mechanism that tends to a fragile failure in the “y“ direction, which does not guarantee an adequate ductility of the structure before the very rare earthquake level, the resistance of the building is much lower compared to the other case studies, while in the “x“ direction, although it is true that a ductile behavior happen, it turns out to be much smaller than the rest.
