This article summarizes the results of an investigation whose purpose was to determine the relationship between Family Functioning and Self-efficacy in career decision-making. The quantitative design was used, using intentional non-probabilistic sampling. 250 students from public schools in Metropolitan Lima participated, 119 women and 131 men. The Family Functioning scale was applied; and the Self-efficacy scale in career decision-making; using a Likert-type scale of 20 and 30 statements respectively. The results indicate that there is a relationship between cohesion and family adaptability with respect to self-efficacy in making career decisions of students from public schools in metropolitan Lima. In addition, it is observed that there is a statistically significant difference in self-efficacy in career decision-making regarding the resolution of internal conflicts in favor of the female gender. In the same way, statistically significant differences were observed in Family Functioning with respect to the father's level of education. Likewise, it is reported that there is a significant difference in the selection of self-efficacy goals in career decision-making in favor of students who live with both parents. It is concluded that better Family Functioning is associated with higher Self-efficacy for career decision-making in secondary school students.
