The present study aimed to relate the coping with academic stress and the self-regulation of learning in students from the second to the fifth year of secondary school, beneficiaries of a scholarship granted by a Peruvian NGO. 304 schoolchildren aged 13 to 17 participated, of which 53.95% were women. The academic stress coping scale [A-CEA] and the inventory of learning self-regulation strategies [ARA] were applied. The results allow to conclude that there are significant correlations between the factors of both variables. It was observed that there are positive correlations between the factors of coping with academic stress: Positive Reevaluation (RP), Search for Support (BA) and Planning (P) with the factors of self-regulation of learning: Organization of the Environment (OE), Search of Information (BI) and Organization of the task (OT); Likewise, negative correlations were found between RP, BA and P with Inadequate Regulation Habits (HIR). Finally, in a comparative analysis it was found that men use more than women the strategies for coping with academic stress of RP and P, but women make more use of the self-regulation learning strategy of OE and BI. In addition, it was evidenced that the younger students use the RP more and the older ones use the P strategy; while, regarding the self-regulation variable, those of younger age use the BI more and the older ones use the HIR.
