The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) defines disability as a term that includes deficits, limitations in activity and restrictions in participation. The objective of this research is to determine the prevalence of physical disability in the Peruvian population and its associated factors. METHODS: Analytical cross-sectional study product of an analysis of secondary data from the National Household Survey (ENAHO) 2020 carried out by the INEI. A total of 19 510 people are included in the study representing 22 377 608 people. RESULTS: There is a 2.40% prevalence of physical disability. Likewise, belonging to the age group 60 years and older increases 5.16 times the probability of presenting physical disability. In addition, what resides in the Sierra increases the probabilities by 35%; Likewise, Quechua people are 37% less likely than mestizo people. Having a stable partner is 45% less likely than people who do not have a partner and having a high school education is 73% less likely to have this type of disability. With regard to health, having a chronic disease increases the probabilities 5.01 times, taking the same or more than an hour to approach a health facility and having SIS increases the probabilities by 73% and 39%, respectively, while having ESSALUD as a type of insurance decreases 33% probability of having physical disability CONCLUSIONS: There is a slight decrease in the prevalence of physical disability compared to 8 years ago. Being 60 years of age or older, being from the Sierra, having chronic illness or discomfort, the waiting time in the health facility is equal to or greater than one hour, and having SIS increases the probability of having a physical disability; However, being Quechua, having a stable partner, having studied primary, secondary or higher education and having ESSALUD insurance reduces the probability of having it.
