In this thesis work, the implementation of an Occupational, Health and Safety Management System (SGSSO) is described based on the principles of the ISO 45001: 2018 standard, in order to minimize accidents at the UNICON concrete plant located in the Immaculate Mining Unit. The guidelines and clauses of standards to be mentioned are found in ISO 45001: 2018, an international standard whose principles are prevention and health care for workers. The afore mentioned implementation was carried out in the Unión de Concreteras S.A (UNICON) contract whose concrete plant is located in the Inmaculada Mining Unit (UM) belonging to Hochschild Mining. Through the implementation, substantial changes are perceived in security management and the reduction of permissible security indicators, as established by the company. In this sense, the present investigation contributes to prevent injuries and damage to health caused to collaborators in relation to work. There results obtained were the following safety indicators, Accident Severity Index and Accident Rate, which were minimized by 95%, 97% and 98% respectively. On the other hand, the Safety and Health Reports increased by an average of 68%, which concludes that, the implementation of an SGSSO at work based on the ISO 45001: 2018 standard contributes to the improvement of risk management, since there is a positive correlation.
