User satisfaction, related to the evaluation of health services, is an aspect that in recent years has become important, mainly to evaluate the quality in healthcare. The results obtained from the application of the SERVQUAL survey applied to a National Hospital showed a decrease of 13.6% between the first semesters of 2018 and 2019, this due to factors such as delays in care (30.5%), difficulty in access to health services (26.15%) and mistreatment of staff (18.46%), among others. Users presented problems in the care processes due to waste, such as waste in processes, waiting and unnecessary movements in the outpatient service, which generated long waiting times, and it showed a cycle time of 65.01 minutes of which only the 6.1% corresponded to key activities. For this reason, this study is focused on optimizing the process of entrance to the outpatient service of a national hospital based on the application of Lean Healthcare tools such as 5S, Jidoka, Just in Time and Poka Yoke. Finally, thanks to the improvements implemented, a reduction of 35.81% was obtained in the cycle time, among other achievements.
