The general objective of this study is to determine the predominant leadership styles for effectiveness in remote work. Currently, there is no consensus on the leadership style, based on its characteristics, that can be adopted and that guarantees effectiveness in remote work. To achieve this, the systematic review of peer-reviewed articles was considered as a strategy. In these, in an orderly and coherent way, the various positions related to the theories that exist about leadership, its styles, its characteristics and about the modality of remote work were analyzed. The methodology is qualitative with an exploratory scope and a specific document review design. Being bibliographic, this work has one main limitation: the exclusion of context and field work. For this reason, this study is a theoretical scope that may be the beginning of future research. Finally, it is concluded that there is no consensus in determining a preponderant leadership style for effectiveness in remote work. In this sense, some authors point out that, in the remote work modality, traditional leadership styles, such as responsible, cross or transactional, transformational and collaborative, work and are present. On the other hand, there are those who argue that electronic leadership or technological leadership is the one that can work best in the remote mode.
