Objective. To explore experience’s factors that facilitate or not forgiveness in loss survivors by suicide. Method. Qualitative, phenomenological, with 6 participants chosen from a sampling for convenience. The instruments used were: sociodemographic record and semi-structured interview guide. Results. Survivors, after death, experience changes at cognitive, affective and behavioral levels that are mediated by: context, access to a trained therapist and personal features of the survivors to adapt to a new life without the deceased. Conclution. Forgiveness would not be the point to which the bereaved would arrive within the grieving process, since it fluctuates between acceptance of death and unforgiveness.
