In the world, the textile and clothing industries have high turnover and low industrial margins and their competitiveness depends on reliable logistics, transportation and delivery services. Peruvian textile companies face a major problem with the supply of raw materials, since they have the need to import almost all of their resources, which causes high logistics costs. The distinctive characteristics of the logistics of textile inputs for SMEs are the import of raw materials from Asia, the concentration of strategic products in a few suppliers, the orders of raw materials in fixed periods, the use of email and telephone to finalize agreements, manual review of stocks, lack of know-how with suppliers, use of the purchase order to verify the order, lack of classification of the raw material in the warehouse, inventory and stock breakage. Given the aforementioned problem, a strategic Lean purchasing model is presented based on the approval of suppliers and 5s to improve the operability of the areas involved. An experimental validation is carried out in a case study that complies with the profile mentioned as SMEs and it was possible to demonstrate the reduction of unscheduled stops in 9, 12 and 15 in the months of August, September and October 2019, respectively, and financial contributions for the organization of a VPN of S /. 3030.18 and an IRR of 29.38%.
