This thesis describes the implementation of a Maintenance Management System, focused on preventive maintenance, whose purpose is to increase the% availability and reduce queue times between activities in the paper production line. The company under study has an average availability of 85% for its main production line MP1. The scheduled and emergency corrective maintenance represents 85% of the expense and of the maintenance orders executed in 2018. Finally, in 2018 they exceeded the budget by 30% due to poor planning, which led to the purchase on the fly of maintenance materials and tools. The implementation of this Management System presents 3 fundamental stages; These are: First, selection of the area to implement the system according to the criticality and frequency of failure. Second, FMEA Analysis (Failure and Error Modal Analysis) to define the machinery diagnosis. Finally, a maintenance planning is designed, describing preventive activities (maintenance) and frequency to be fulfilled, this accompanied by a check list of activities. The Maintenance Management System implemented in the MP1 line allowed to go from 85% availability to 97%. On the other hand, the profit margin increased by USD830,087, due to the increase in the level of production due to the reduction in time for preventive maintenance.
