Muslim characters, as portrayed in TV & film, are often stereotyped after the attacks of 9/11. They are typically demonized and attached to terrorism and violence as a requirement to appear on the screen. We don't recognize them as a part of civil society as we generate social denial about their broader community. When we analyse their portrayal with an international scope, we can see if Muslim characters are characterized with old stereotypes, or if there is a new narrative that has been created without these stigmas and racist tropes. We will factor in their participation and importance of Muslim characters in regards to their environment, emotions and social world. To achieve this, we analyse the close relationships that Muslim characters have with other principles within the media.
