This research has been made in a metal-mechanic company where it was evident that the main problem is the delay in the order delivery since 46.67% have delay that generate economic losses to the organization. From the analysis it was found that there are excessive times in the configuration of the milling area machinery as well as scattered objects in the working area which makes difficult the movement of operators. As part of the current situation, it was found that the configuration time is 46.60 minutes per batch, the movement time is 22.77 minutes per batch and that there is 8.9% of defective products of the total produced. In this regard the Lean Manufacturing was used in order to solve the problem found by using the VSM, SMED and 5S tools with which the improvement proposals were formulated by developing the methodology that each of them have. Finally, the software Arena was used in order to validate the data obtained from the improvement and verify the effectiveness of the proposals made as part of the solution to the main problem where it was obtained that the configuration time was reduced by 58.3%, the movement time by 47% and the amount of batches with delay was reduced by 50%. Besides, the percentage of defective products was reduced by 4.91%.
