Abstract: El objetivo del estudio es analizar los procesos de construcción de la identidad social en raperos de Lima. Participaron 10 personas de sexo masculino cuyas edades fluctuaron entre los 23 a 26 años, quienes reconocen pertenecer a la cultura hip hop desde hace más de seis años. La metodología utilizada fue cualitativa con diseño fenomenológico. La técnica de recolección de información fue la entrevista enfocada. Se utilizó el análisis temático para establecer las siguientes categorías: características del grupo, valor otorgado al grupo y diferencias con otros grupos de rap. Los resultados señalan que estos jóvenes son parte de la cultura hip hop al encontrar elementos que les otorgan satisfacción, brindándoles así una reafirmación y beneficios a su identidad social.
Social Identity in rappers from Lima. The objective of the study is to analyze the processes of construction of social identity in rappers from Lima. 10 male people participated, ranging from 23 to 26 years old, who acknowledge being part of the hip hop culture for more than six years. The methodology used was qualitative with a phenomenological design. The information gathering technique was the focused interview. Thematic analysis was used to establish the following categories: characteristics of the group, value given to the group and differences with other rap groups. The results show that these young people are part of the hip hop culture by finding elements that give them satisfaction, thus giving them a reaffirmation and benefits to their social identities.
