Different kinds of concrete pavements are exposed to flexural and traction stresses. It is pertinent to analyze new types of components for the concrete mixture due to its low capacity of resistance to the mentioned stresses. It has been shown that steel fiber can be added to the concrete mixture to improve the resistance to compression, flexural and traction efforts because it creates adhesion bridges, avoiding crack propagation. The methods used to evaluate the variables related to rigid pavements where based on diverse parameters of United States of America and Peru from various organizations. The focus of the study was to analyze the influence of the steel fiber reinforced concrete as a reinforcement material in rigid pavements of medium transit. It was calculated that the steel fiber applied, increases the resistance to compression after twenty-eight days of drying. Also, it has been found that the application of steel fiber increases the rupture modulus. The results show that the thickness of the rigid pavement is significantly reduced. The results propose a guideline to the process of designing a rigid pavement utilizing added materials in the concrete mixture.
