This research work addresses the management of corporate identity and its relationship with the communication and organizational image of the National Police of Peru (PNP) during the period 2015-2018. The objective of this research was to determine how identity management and the administration of intangible assets influence institutional communication and the image generated by the PNP. Although there are some studies on the communicational processes of the aforementioned institution, we consider that they have been - above all - from an operational approach and not from the search for understanding the reason for its communicational actions and their consequences; void trying to fill this job. The research is composed of an introductory part where the research problem, the justification, the hypothesis and the research objectives are presented; followed by a contextual framework aimed at understanding the organizational reform process that led to the creation of the PNP and its current situation. In the theoretical framework, the essential communication issues are exposed to address the research carried out. Next, the methodology used is presented, which had a non-experimental design, of an explanatory type, and with a non-probabilistic discretionary sampling. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations are presented; the latter with the intention of contributing to the proper management of the identity of this important public institution in Peru.
