In this research, the general objective is to describe the motivation of academic achievement in young students from four Alternative Basic Educational Centers (CEBA) in Metropolitan Lima. To carry it out, there were 113 participants with ages between 18 and 29 years old (Average age = 20.6), of whom 53.1% were women and 46.9% were men. To do this, a sociodemographic file (Own construction) and the Test of Motivation Academic Achievement (Thornberry, 2003) were used, in this way, being able to collect the necessary data. As a result, it was found that these students have a higher relationship with the factor of achievement-oriented actions, while a lower relationship with the factor of achievement-oriented thoughts. Likewise, it is reflected that the academic grade of high school fourth manifest a higher percentage of a high level of motivation. Finally, women are more academically motivated compared to men.
