The purpose of this study is to reduce pedestrian-vehicle conflicts around the Naranjal station of the Metropolitan BRT. It’s proposed to reduce the problem through the redistribution of accessibility and mobility functions. The evaluation was performed using a microscopic approach. Data such as pedestrian and vehicular capacity, overlapping of vehicular and pedestrian activity, the use of unauthorized places as bus stops, the presence of peddlers, and deficiencies in traffic light cycles, agents causing conflict. They were obtained through various tools such as field visits and aerial data collection with drone. With the data processing, the areas of pedestrian-vehicle conflicts were identified. This served to develop a mapping of black spots of conflict. With the data obtained, a micro simulation model was developed with Vissim 9 software. The construction of the micro simulation model has as its main objective to represent the problem. For this, routes and pedestrian behaviors were modeled on pedestrian cruises. In addition, informal bus stops, major conflict points and the presence of street vendors were modeled as obstacles. Field values were measured such as pedestrian speed, vehicle travel times and waiting times at the traffic light crossing. These were calibrated and validated within the micro simulation model. Faced with this problem, it is sought to redistribute and generate authorized bus stops around the Naranjal station. In addition, improve and synchronize the traffic light cycles of the pedestrian cruise, reducing pedestrian-vehicle conflicts.
