According to the WHO, traffic accidents are one of the biggest causes of mortality in the world today. Peru is no stranger to this situation, due to population growth, poor road education, poor management of the car fleet, accidents have increased considerably during the last decades. During the development of this work, it proposes and presents alternatives for road safety solution, for the practical case in the south of Lima within km 35 and 55 of the Panamericana Sur highway, in the districts of Punta Hermosa, Punta Negra, San Bartolo and Santa María del Mar. The information was collected and compared based on the manuals to work, expose the methodologies for the road analysis, which was based on the collection of information on the processes of the countries Chile, Bolivia, Mexico and USA - using Highway Safety Manual (HSM) tools: these include signaling, vertical and horizontal, safety devices and pedestrian facilities. Comparative tables were analyzed, with which they will be applied to the case study to evaluate The TCA located between the progressive 49+400 up to 50+300 is defined, this section being the one that will have improvements in road safety. Applying the predictive methodology of the HSM, the value of Npredictive (expected accidents in the area) is obtained. Finally, a percentage of accident reduction is obtained from the application of the Clearinghouse FMC values.
