Objective: To determine the relationship of presenting musculoskeletal symptoms on the hand and hours of mouse use in videogame users. Materials and methods: On march 2018, a cross-sectional analytical study on videogame users was carried out that are related to the Internet booths of the Arenales Shopping Center in the district of Jesus Maria, in Lima, Peru. The study population was made up of PC video players of both sexes. The evaluation materials were surveys regarding the use of video games, the presence of pain in hands and difficulty to perform daily activities associated with pain in hands, and a skeletal muscle evaluation sheet which consisted of seven tests to show a possible pain of stabbing, burning, localized or irradiated type that varied according to each type of test. The data was analyzed descriptively, for the bivariate we used Fisher or Chi2, and for the multivariate model we used Poisson Regression with robust variance. Results: 239 participants were included in the study, of which 95.0% were male. The average age was 22.3 ± 3.4 years (± SD). The time in hours and the average number of days spent playing video games inside an internet booth was 3.6 ± 1.8 hours (± SD) and 2.7 ± 1.5 days (± SD). The dichotomous test score, of the total participants, 61.5% had a positive finding to any of the tests. Conclusions: The 61.5% of the participants responded positively to some musculoskeletal test. However, no relationship was found between hours of mouse use and musculoskeletal symptoms in hand. The variables that presented association of presenting musculoskeletal symptoms in hand were the variables of the age group of 22 and 27 years and self-perception of being a gamer.
