To evaluate the association between impulsivity and substance use disorder in adolescents consulting at Community Mental Health Centers during 2020. Materials and methods: Analytical cross-sectional study, in the Community Mental Health Centers of the Piura region, using the Barrat Impulsivity scale. Substance use disorder was considered as a dependent variable and impulsivity as an independent variable. Statistical analysis will be performed in STATA V.15, univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis, considering a significance p<0.05. Results: The survey was received and answered by 147 adolescent patients who attended the community mental health centers of Sechura, Victor Raul and Catacaos in the city of Piura. When the sociodemographic characteristics of the adolescents were evaluated, it was found that more than half were male, almost 60% were between 10 and 14 years old, 61.2% did not have a stable partner. The factors that could be associated with higher substance abuse disorder scores were evaluated and it was found that the conditions that increased the probability of presenting it were: male sex, younger age, being an alcohol consumer, and a higher score in the impulsivity questionnaire. Conclusion: The main association between impulsivity scores and substance use disorder in this group of adolescents consulting mental health centers, it was found that there was a direct correlation between these variables, therefore, a higher impulsivity score was related to a higher substance use disorder score
