Determine if hyponatremia is a factor associated with prolonged hospital stay in patients with Cerebrovascular Disease at the Belén Hospital in Trujillo during the period 2022 to 2023. Material and methods: Retrospective observational cohort study, whose sample consisted of 109 patients with hyponatremia (exposed group) and 109 patients without hyponatremia (non-exposed group). A collection form designed by the researcher was applied. The statistical analysis was performed with the Chi square test, as well as with the estimation of the Relative Risk (RR), in addition to a multiple logistic regression with its 95% confidence intervals and significance of 5%. Results: 78.9% of patients with hyponatremia had a prolonged hospital stay, while 57.8% of patients without hyponatremia had a prolonged hospital stay. After bivariate analysis, hyponatremia was significantly shared with prolonged hospital stay (p=0.001, RR=1.365), while after multivariate analysis, the behavior was the same (p=0.001, RRa=1.572). No intervening variables are identified that are associated with prolonged hospital stay in patients with Cerebrovascular Disease. Conclusion: Hyponatremia was a factor associated with prolonged hospital stay in the patient with Cerebrovascular Disease at the Belén Hospital in Trujillo during the period 2022 to 2023
