Dental fluorosis is an alteration that occurs due to the excessive intake of fluorides during the formation of the enamel, it can present as white spots, dull and dull, they can also present dark brown pigmented areas on the surface of the enamel, in addition they can present pits that give it a fragile enamel appearance, and in many cases the tooth loses its normal morphology. The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of dental fluorosis in children from 7 to 12 years old of the I.E. Parcemon Saldarriaga Montejo, Piura. We examined 186 children from the I. Parcemon Saldarriaga Montejo between the ages of 7 to 12 years through a non-probabilistic method for convenience. The present work is transversal, descriptive, prospective, prolective and observational. Frequency tables of an entry with absolute and relative values were used to analyze the evaluation. A 95% confidence interval was constructed, and the nonparametric criteria independence test was used, using the Chi squared distribution with a level of significance of 5%. The present study showed that 35% (66 children) presented dental fluorosis, and one in 65% (120 children) did not present it, where the masculine gender with 18% (34 children) had a higher percentage of prevalence of dental fluorosis, unlike the female gender with 17% (32 girls) presented less percentage of dental fluorosis. And according to age it was found that the ages of 11 to 12 years with 13% were the most representative, and the age of 9 to 10 with 10% was the least representative. Obtaining that 35% of the children presented dental fluorosis, affecting more the male gender, between the age of 11 to 12 years. The children of the I.E Parcemon Saldarriaga Montejo present a 35% prevalence of dental fluorosis.
