Objective: To determine if thyroid disease is associated factor with Vitiligo in patients at Hospital Belen of Trujillo. Material and Method: We carried out an analytical, observational, retrospective, cohort study. The study population consisted of 150 patients between 5 and 75 years old, attended by outpatient dermatology service at Hospital Belen of Trujillo in the period 2013 – 2018, which were divided into 2 groups: 30 patients with thyroid disease and 120 patients without thyroid disease. The odds ratio and the chi square test were calculated to establish a relationship between the qualitative variables specified in the study. Results: There were no significant differences in relation to the variables age, sex, origin and comorbidities among patients exposed or not exposed to thyroid disease. The vitiligo frequency in patients exposed to thyroid disease was 56.7%. The vitiligo frequency in patients not exposed to thyroid disease was 36.7%, with a significant difference of p=<0.05, the relative risk for thyroid disease was 1, 55 (IC 95% 1, 04-2, 29). Conclusions: The thyroid disease is associated factor with Vitiligo in patients at Hospital Belen of Trujillo.
