Objective: To establish whether prematurity, low birth weight and cesarean delivery are risk factors for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years in the pediatric service of Hospital II Cajamarca, period 2016 to 2018. Material and methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted in which 210 pediatric patients were included, according to selection criteria, which were divided into 2 groups: patients with bronchiolitis and patients without bronchiolitis; applying the odds ratio, and the chi square statistical test. Results: Prematurity is a risk factor for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age with an odds ratio of 2.56, which was significant (p <0.05). Low birth weight is a risk factor for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age with an odds ratio of 2.53, which was significant (p <0.05). The cesarean delivery route is a risk factor for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age with an odds ratio of 2.086, which was significant (p <0.05). Conclusion: Prematurity, low birth weight and cesarean delivery are risk factors for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age of the pediatric service of Hospital II Cajamarca, period 2016 to 2018.
